DHROOPAD participated in The Embassy Concert Series for DC Youth organized by the United Nations Association of the National Capital Area (UNA-NCA) at the Embassy of Bangladesh in Washington DC. The Embassy Concert Series for DC Youth is a partnership with the embassies to give young people the opportunity to learn about other cultures and global issues through musical diplomacy and access to representatives from different nations. DHROOPAD’s interactive presentation with the DC school children included brief history of Bangladesh, Bengali music, musical instruments, and dances. Among others, Dr. Craig Starger, an environmental scientist, made a presentation on global warming and its potential impact on Bangladesh. Ambassador H.E. Mr. Akramul Qader also addressed the audience and participated in a Q&A session with the school children.
