Synopsis of Shojon Badiar Ghat:
The poetic humanism Jasim Uddin unveiled in his masterpiece 'Shojon Badiar Ghat' in the 1930s has the same, if not more, entreat in today's world of uprising violence often fueled by the same devious political ambitions. The drama portrays the lives of rural people of different religious beliefs living peacefully in harmony, and how the greedy power mongers use religion to turn them against each other and shatter peaceful lives for their own benefits. At the core, it is a love story with Romeo-Juliet ending.
Dhroopad's presentation of Shojon Badiar Ghat includes unique combination of ballads of indigenous Bengali folk songs, vibrant choreography, and theatrics.
